covered in snow.

average evening lows of 38 degrees.

Summer in Salt Lake is pleasantly warm. July is the hottest month with an average daytime
high of 92.

Summer Seasonal Average* - (June, July, August)
Average daytime highs of 88 degrees and average evening lows of 59 degrees.

Vibrant colors can be found across the mountains and canyons as the cooler temperatures turn the leaves all shades of gold, purple, red, green, and brown.

Fall Seasonal Average* - (September, October, November)Average daytime highs of 65 degrees and average evening lows of 40 degrees.

When the snow falls, Salt Lake becomes a skiers paradise. Visitors come from around the world to ski world class resorts and some of the greatest powder on earth! An average 535 inches of light, dry powder snow falls on the Wasatch Range located just 35 minutes from downtown. By contrast, the valley receives approximately 59 inches of snow during the season.

Winter Seasonal Average* - (December, January, February)Average daytime highs of 40 degrees and average evening lows of 22 degrees.

* Mountain areas may be as much as 20 degrees cooler.

Annual precipitation
varies from less than five inches in Utah's arid Great Salt Lake Desert to more than 60 inches in the northern mountain ranges. In Davis, Salt Lake, Utah and Weber counties, precipitation averages 6 inches per year . Because of the state's inland location, Utah's snow is unusually dry, earning it the reputation of being the world's greatest powder. At some Wasatch Mountain ski resorts the season-long snow total will be 40 to 50 feet!
